“Bareshaft / Fletch Tuning”

In order to get the cleanest down range accuracy, it is always best to try to achieve close to the same lateral arrow flight out of the bow. At 10-20 yards, try to shoot a bare shaft and a fletched shaft side by side for several groups until you see a pattern develop. If you are right or left consistently, you will want to add or take out twists in your yoke until you are pretty close to the same lateral arrow travel. Up and down while important is secondary at this point.

Arrow center shot is not an exact number… Beacause every bow is different, your centershot will be different. With the HOYT CS Turbo, NITRUM and CS 34’s, your centershot should be around 3/4″ generally no more than that… 7/8″ is too far. (too much prelean in the cam.

This will feel like it is slightly inward of the powerstroke but it is correct. If you are outside of this number, you will know that you have too much pre lean in your top cam and you will need to add a twist to your right yoke and untwist the left yoke by a twist… I generally do this a half a twist at a time until you see the results you are looking for. If there is a lot of prelean, I use full twists until Im close.

Why bubble levels are so important to setting level nock travel? Well, they allow you to ensure that your bow is both laterally and vertically level, hence why the use of these levels with a 90 degree reading on it is so important…

Also you want to make certain you know where to place your rest in relation the the berger button hole.. Every bow is different, the newer HOYT bows seem to be the happiest, when the arrow runs through the top half to 3/4’s of the hole.

The position of the D Loop in relation to the berger hole has a lot to do your bows cam sync… With the top cam hitting slightly faster than the bottom cam.
